 “New Staff Position”

Youth Ministries Pastor – Pastor Patti and the Church Board are pleased to announce that, in the new church year, we will be praying for God’s wisdom in seeking the right person to come on staff at First Church in a part-time position as a Youth Ministries Pastor.  This is a huge step for us in moving forward and one that we ask that the congregation to be in prayer.  For the month of March we will be presenting our plan of how we can all partner together for a strong future for First Church.  These are exciting days and we look forward to what God will do in and through us!

IMPACT  – Leadership Training Seminar – April 1st

District meeting for all pastors, board members, teachers and leaders of the church @ First Church on Saturday, April 1st. ( Cost $7) Morning sessions start at 9 a.m., lunch provided and dismissal early afternoon. Sign-up sheet in foyer.

April 14th- Good  Friday service at 2:00 here at the church.

The Salvation Army Band will be joining us and Dr. Stephen Elliott will be speaking.  Also Lutes Mountain and McLaughlin Dr. will be joining us.

April 16th – Easter Breakfast @ 9 a.m. followed by a program by the Children’s Dept.

LADIES RETREAT DATES – April 21 – 23

See Donna Gillies if you would like to attend. The price is $85.00 until March 30 or $100.00 at the door. Price for Saturday only is $60.00. Special speaker is Rev. Aimee Mulder from Muskegon, MI.

March 18th. – Youth Night Concert with Zion Band

Zion Band, a group from Kingswood University, will be our guests for a night of worship and praise.  Also, attending will be Teen Challenge who will share a few testimonies.  The concert will begin at 7 p.m.  The band will lead in worship on the following Sunday morning, March 19th.

Missions moment

Cell phones, pagers, beepers, internet, television, radio.  We have many ways to communicate – how often do you use them to communicate Christ’s love?  Here’s your chance!  World Mission Broadcast is communicating all over the world through the uses of radio, television and internet.  Support the ministry by giving to the World Mission Broadcast offering on March 26, 2017.  At an average cost of only $2.20/minute of airtime you help send the Gospel to 80 countries in 35 languages, via 79 programs and 1,142 broadcasts.

Cuba trip highlights – Donna Gillies will be sharing her Cuba experience with us later in March.

“Spring Ahead”

Set your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed next Sat. night, March 11th., or you will be late for church on Sunday March 12th.          Guest Speaker next Sunday March 12th – Drew Eaton from Rochester, N. Y.

MARCH BREAK THIS WEEK – no small groups or Wed. night activities

On March 12th., there will be a “What We Believe” luncheon following the morning service. If you are new to the church or just want to know more about the church and our beliefs, you are welcome to attend. If you received an invitation, please RSVP to Donna Gillies (board members reply as well please).

Men’s Breakfast – Saturday, March 11th at 8:30 at the church.  John Goobie & Darin MacKinnon have sign-up sheets. Donation towards the cost of the breakfast please.  Why not ask a friend to join you!
