Church News Week of February 21, 2016

On March 6th following the morning service. There will be a “Get Acquainted” luncheon.  If you are new to the church within the last year, you are invited to attend.  Pastor Patti will be talking about the history of The Church of The Nazarene and our beliefs.


The Valentine Banquet raised $370 for the youth group Thanks to all who attended and supported this endeavor.


Dr. Bill Stewart has a new book hot off the press entitled — “The Dynamic Trio – The Life Changing Power of Hope, Faith and Love.”  If you would like a book, please speak to Audrey Flynn or Donna Gillies.  Cost $20.


Attention Choir Members

Choir will be starting on March 16 @ 7:45


The donation jar for our compassionate sponsor child is in the foyer.  Please remember to support this commitment.

Ladies Retreat – April 22-24

A fellowship event for women of all ages with inspiring messages by Inspirational speaker, Christy Foldenauer and music by Ruth Collins and her worship team.

Retreat theme—“Becoming – The journey toward Christlikeness”.  Becoming who we were created to be is a work that happens  in us rather than to us.

Registration Fees:

  • $70 by March 15
  • $80 by March 30
  • $90 at the door
  • Saturday only – $50

Mission project is Big Lake Camp


 West End Food Bank

Ben had a picture on facebook this week and his shelves were bare.  Let’s continue to remember this important mission.  Monetary contributions are welcomed as they have  “purchase power” which stretches the dollar. These are difficult days for food banks so let’s rememberto uphold Ben in prayer.


There will be no Tuesday Bible study or Wednesday night Super Kids the week of March break——-March 6th to 12.


 Tuesday morning ladies class @ 10:30a.m.

ALL ladies Welcome. The study is based on the movie War Room.  “Prayer is a Powerful Weapon.”

“War Room” will strengthen your faith and ignite your passion for prayer.  If you haven’t been to a Bible study yet, you are always welcome to come any Tuesday and join the group.  This is a fantastic study on prayer led by Donna Gillies.

WE HAVE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

  • Kindergarten, Grade 1-2, Grade 3-4, Grade 5-6, Youth,
  • Ladies class, Men’s class, and mixed adult class.

Church News Week of February 14, 2016

Silver Threads Ministry

On the 2nd. Tuesday of each month, the Silver Threads will be meeting to prepare meals for shut-ins or someone who just needs encouragement. The next date for food preparation will be February 16th , 2016 @ noon.   If you would like to contribute, please mark your envelope “meals for shut-ins”.

Naz Sleigh Ride at Centennial Park, February 20th at 6 p.m. Cost is $5 per person…only 20 seats available. Sign-up sheet in foyer.

Alabaster Sunday – Sunday, February 21st. is Alabaster Sunday. This is the day (we give two Sundays a year) when we bring all of our change we have been saving which goes directly to missions.  Pastor Patti would like any children who could make a church or school replica out of LEGO to place beside the church we already have for Alabaster.

 Haiti Update – Haiti Team “Sending off” service Feb. 21., at 6 p.m. at Lutes Mtn.

On February 28th., our guest speaker will be Dr. William Stewart – “For the Cross” will be our special music.

Church News Week of February 7, 2016

Silver Threads Ministry

Last Tuesday at noon, the seniors  met at the church for lunch and then went out to Spencer’s Home to sing to Darrell Hope and offer our encouragement. We had a good turn out and Darrell was so glad to see us and sang right along with us. If you are not involved in Silver Threads, we would welcome you to our group….we always have a good time of fellowship.

Ash Wednesday,

February 10th

There will be all day prayer on Ash Wed. starting at 8 a.m. in the sanctuary.  Stop in and pray on your way to work.  There will be juice, muffins, cheese and coffee in the foyer.  There will be someone at the church all day to pray.  Join us for as long as you have time.

At noon bring your lunch and join us around a table in the gym for prayer.

At 5:30 p.m. join us for baked beans and pancake supper

6:30p.m. regular classes


Valentine Banquet

February 13th…….Tickets available today—$10.  Proceeds go to help the teens in a fund raiser for their next trip to a rally. See Lynda MacKinnon for a ticket.

Haiti Update

Haiti Team “Sending off” service Feb. 21., at 6 p.m. at Lutes Mtn.  Thank you to all who contributed to the list of items for Haiti and for the willing workers who came out on Thursday night to pack the bags.
